2016. Year 15. November at RTU, BRI 317. room was taking place a seminar where obtained results was presented to master students from Kazakhstan. Around 15 participants.
By using results from this projects, there are accepted an ERANET-LAC project proposal for further reasearch in 2017-2019. Project ID- ELAC2015/T02-0721, FIBER. link to website.

A seminar with company “MC-Bauchemie”
10. November, 2015. Yer, RTU, was happening a seminar with this company where a potential collaboration was discussed. As a result there was interest from both sides in a collaboration in research of different glues with application for proposed composites.

A research in a framework of the project will allow to valuate possibilities of using strengthening cell type hollow ribs in wooden plates. Such ribs are easy to place in the middle layer of plates -this way facilitates the process of manufacturing. It will be possible to use this material in furniture industry, shipbuilding, car industry, building industry, including multi-story wood building industry. A new type of plates will let reduce material (wood) consumption up to 20%, in this way it will increase competitiveness of national economy.
A new methodology for new innovative layered wooden composite with cell type hollow ribs will be worked out for design of structure. Plate’s structure’s stress-strain calculation with shell type Finite elements and comparison of analytical and experimentally obtained results.
Work-out of Analytical and numerical models for calculation leads us to the need of a new design methodology for structural design of construction stiffness’s and strength’s field which is mainly influenced by wood fiber orientation, thicknesses of elements and intensity and orientation of ribs harmonization with strain field produced by outer loads with function gradient based optimization algorithm based on Genetic algorithm.
In a framework of the project a recommendations of cell type hollow ribs geometrical parameters will be created as well as manufacturing and ‘work in’ technology principles and production plates’ demonstration models.
As a result of the project for the first time a new layered wooden composite with cell type hollow ribs will be offered and three type of demonstration models will be created. This shape of cell type hollow ribs will provide increased specific strength of load carrying capacity (ratio between load that a plate can carry and the mass of a plate). In this way it will make possible significant reduce of wood material consumption in furniture industry, shipbuilding, car industry, building industry, including multi-story wood building industry. At the same time providing increased specific bending strength, reduced costs and consumption of material and energy in this way giving significant investment in rational use of renewable natural resource and make an advantage in sustainable development of national economy.
