Student conference “Science or Fiction? – Imagine the future of thermal energy storage technologies and applications”

Team of project Innovation Pathways to TES (INPATH-TES) – an EC funded project (HORIZON 2020 European Union Framework Programme for Research and Innovation for 2014-2020) is pleased to invite students to present the field of Thermal Energy Storage to the student conference “Science or Fiction? – Imagine the future of thermal energy storage technologies and applications” to be held in Riga on 29th September 2017.
The aim of the students’ conference is to foster a closer relationship between the faculties dealing with TES activities in Europe and the rest of the world.

Workshop
Workshop will be held in test stands for energy efficiency monitoring at Botanic Garden and it will include:

  • Presentation of 5 test buildings (information about materials and structures, equipment for heating, ventilation and cooling using air-air and air-water heat pumps)
  • Presentation of measurement and data acquisition system with different sensors, data transfer, storage and post processing
  • Using of materials with different thermal capacity, conductivity and also phase change materials
  • Demonstration of selected measurements (air exchange rate estimation, heat transfer and U-value measurements, analysis of thermal comfort conditions, etc.)
56th STUDENT SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL CONFERENCE was traditionally held ir April and May, 2015,  during which each RTU student was able to show his/her knowledge and improve presentation skills, dealing with a variety of theoretical and practical scientific issues.
