03/07/2015 Seminar on alternative cement production with the lowest CO2 emissions through both local natural resources and waste products of industrial origin.
Waste the utilization of new materials opens up the possibility of obtaining effectively dispose of waste, including those that are considered dangerous for the environment. In some studies, natural kaolin clay have been replaced by Metakaolin is raōšanas product, thus encouraging recycling of materials and conservation of natural resources.
Using a pore-forming materials in different concentrations, possible to obtain materials with a density of 540 to 675 kg / m3. Building materials mechanical and durability properties significantly affect the type of clay used. The Metakaolin base made of building materials is higher compressive and flexural strength, as well as they are salturīgāki and possess greater resistance to sulphate destructive effects compared to building materials made of illite clay base. High porosity (71-79%) determines the mechanical properties of the material (1.4-3.8 MPa compressive resistance) and thermal conductivity (0:14 to 0:16 W/mK).

Meeting Protocol
05/26/2015 Seminar on Concrete Pavement Design northern climatic conditions.
In cooperation with the Riga Technical University and the University of Minnesota, 2015. On May 26, CEMEX organized a workshop on the design of rigid pavement design to Latvia in similar climatic and geotechnical conditions.
After hearing the seminar the participants will be able to understand:
– Rigid concrete pavement structural design;
– Depth of rigid concrete pavement construction estimates in accordance with the progress of modern calculation methodologies;
– Geotechnical characteristics, pressures and the external environment influences the importance of rigid concrete pavement statement;
– The world’s best practice in the design of rigid concrete pavement at the problematic Island fugitive soils.
Participants were provided:
– ME–PDG calculations Installing software (free of charge, including use after the seminar);
– USB flash memory with lecture materials;
– Lunch and coffee breaks;
– Diploma for participation in the seminar.
